Jeremy Stone is a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) who trained and qualified at the Banbury office of Grant Thornton. He came to the West-country in 1975 to join KPMG at their Plymouth office. Promoted four times in three years he then left to join a sole practitioner in Tavistock in 1978. That practice now has five partners. Outside of work he is vice-chairman of the governors at Milton Abbot School, enjoys field archery, is attempting to re-commence sailing and determined to get the bottom of a canoe wet – the last two times finding him, briefly, the wrong way up!
Gail Davis is again a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) who trained with PwC and Condy Mathias having spent ten years as a dental surgeon prior to that. Gail specialises in dealing with our “tax return clients” payroll and VAT compliance and unincorporated accounts. Other than her other full time job of raising a family Gail is passionate about natural history, and is a lapsed bee-keeper.
We believe that we are a unique practice - we are fully staffed by Chartered Accountants with no support staff such as telephonists, accounts clerks or secretaries. As a result we are able to drive down our overheads keeping our charges competitive and our clients know that they are going to be speaking with a qualified accountant when they phone or call. This is achieved through operating with a high level of IT including having our server hosted “in the Cloud” which not only helps with maintaining back-up copies of our files but it also means that when we are away from the office we can connect and have full access to our files and software wherever we are.
